Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a self-defense martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting and submission holds. It focuses on the skill of controlling one's opponent, gaining a dominant position and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or chokeholds.

A child that masters Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will be able to take control of an attacker and also neutralize them in realistic situations. When they gain this knowledge, the child will also develop more self-confidence. The Jiu-Jitsu self-defense skills are specifically relevant to help children deal with bullying.
